On May 22nd, the CompTIA Benelux event took place in Utrecht, providing the perfect occasion for a special moment: the launch of the DutchTechOnHeels English-language podcast. This online platform, dedicated to increasing the visibility of women in the tech industry, proudly introduced its latest initiative. The podcast features inspiring women in tech, such as Nathalie Brähler, Marjolein Pordon, and Valérie Vernout.
DutchTechOnHeels was founded with the mission to enhance the visibility of women in the tech world. Serial entrepreneur and DTOH founder Jennifer Delano explains, "We thought that by setting up the platform, we had found the way to make women in tech more visible. But there was still an element missing. That’s why we sought out C-level women in tech and launched the DutchTechOnHeels podcast."
In an industry still largely dominated by men, it is essential to provide talented women with a platform. DutchTechOnHeels aims to bring a female perspective to this field and show young girls that a career in tech is possible for them too. Jennifer Delano emphasizes the importance of this mission. "Only 22% of all tech roles in European companies are filled by women, according to a McKinsey analysis. DutchTechOnHeels wants to change this by offering a positive information platform, with news on technological developments, relevant events, and career opportunities, along with inspiring interviews with female leaders via podcasts."
The DutchTechOnHeels podcast was officially launched during the CompTIA Benelux event in Utrecht. This event was the ideal opportunity to promote collaboration with women in tech. Jennifer Delano launched the podcast amidst the organizers and attendees of CompTIA Benelux during her talk 'Empowering Women in Tech,' where she discussed the various ways to make oneself visible and heard in the tech industry.
