ChargePoint, leading provider of network solutions for electric charging, is launching new software solutions for fleet managers. Designed for both all-electric fleets and fleets with a mix of EVs and internal combustion engine vehicles, the new solutions help streamline electric fleet operations, reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) and simplify the transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
The software suite has three core components: charging station management, vehicle telematics and mobility services such as roaming and charging session fee handling. All provide fleet managers with end-to-end support to reduce EV TCO. These components can be implemented as one integrated suite or as stand-alone solutions.
"We understand fleet operators' concerns about the investments required to electrify fleets, including the cost of the infrastructure required to charge EVs," said André ten Bloemendal, SVP Europe at ChargePoint. "By bringing together a wide range of management applications in one platform, we help fleet operators identify and realize significant savings on their TCO. This software gives them better control and visibility into their fleet operations, and the ability to reduce operating costs over the lifecycle of vehicles."
Better performance, lower costs AND a better experience for drivers
ChargePoint's software platform is compatible with every electric vehicle and a wide range of charging station manufacturers. The platform's extensive functionality helps fleet operators to:
- Automate schedules to ensure charging sessions occur at the lowest electricity rates;
- Optimize route readiness;
- Gain visibility at the site level to ensure operational readiness;
- Maintain metrics for ESG goals
- Receive real-time alerts to maximize charging station uptime;
- Achieve savings with advanced energy management tools.
Thanks to open APIs and developer partnerships, ChargePoint's new fleet software fully integrates with all the tools that operators already use on a daily basis, including third-party telematics solutions, route planning and dispatching.
The built-in telematics software is designed specifically for EVs and chargers, allowing fleet managers to gain deeper performance insights to optimize the battery and charging status of individual vehicles and the performance of their entire electric fleet. With ChargePoint, fleet managers benefit from features specific to electric vehicles, such as essential data captured by charging stations and vehicles, real-time visibility of vehicle location and battery telematics that allow early detection of problems.
Finally, fleet managers can now manage charging activity during routes, regardless of their drivers' location, thanks to mobile integration through the ChargePoint app or with other apps using ChargePoint APIs. Drivers across North America and Europe can access more than 750,000 charging stations through the ChargePoint network and can even manage payments through integrations with charge card providers. The platform also supports reimbursement for home charging sessions.
