Last night Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple (XRP), gave a rousing speech in front of a large crowd consisting of Ripple employees and members of the XRP Army, in which he gave a special shoutout to several people who have provided invaluable help/support to Ripple, himself and the XRP community
Last month, Garlinghouse already announced that he would host a "victory party" in New York City on 29 September. The victory he was referring to was Ripple's partial victory over the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 13 July, when district judge Analisa Torres declared that XRP is not inherently a security.
During his highly anticipated speech, Garlinghouse acknowledged the invaluable contribution of several people whom he said "deserve a lot of recognition". These included Ripple's General Counsel Stuart Alderoty (whom he called "a rock"), Ripple's Vice President of Litigation and Employment Deborah McCrimmon ("she beat the SEC"), attorney John Deaton (whom he called "a ray of sunshine"), and Ripple CTO David Schwartz. He continued with:
"I think we all learned one thing: It takes a village to fight a bully and this village beats the bully!"
