Zoom today announced the beta launch of Workflow Automation, a no-code solution for automating routine tasks. With Workflow Automation, users can easily set up complex workflows in Zoom Workplace and external applications, freeing up time for more valuable tasks. Workflow Automation will initially automate workflows within Zoom Team Chat, the platform's AI-driven chat solution. In the near future, Zoom plans to extend this feature to other Zoom products.
‘We have designed Workflow Automation to be user-friendly for teams of any composition and size. We are launching Workflow Automation first within Team Chat because it is an opportunity to enhance team member collaboration and work asynchronously,’ said Wei Li, head of Zoom Team Chat at Zoom. ‘Workflow Automation helps reduce tedious and repetitive tasks.’
With Workflow Automation, users can use ready-made templates or design customised workflows to automate a wide range of tasks. These include automatically sending welcome messages to new team members, scheduling recurring reminders for project updates, streamlining leave requests and collecting feedback via questionnaires. Thanks to an intuitive no-code environment with drag-and-drop interface, technical expertise is not required, making Workflow Automation accessible to teams of all skill levels.
Key features of Zoom Workflow Automation:
-Task Automation: Automate routine tasks to increase productivity and free up more time for strategic decision-making. Think of scheduling recurring project updates and reminders to post status updates.
-Streamlined workflows: Set up incremental, conditional or action-based workflows to automate multi-step processes. For example, incoming feedback can be automatically categorised based on keywords and shared through appropriate channels.
-User-friendly interface: The no-code, drag-and-drop interface makes it easy for anyone to build complex workflows. Ready-made templates are available for common tasks and Zoom plans to introduce additional templates to support a variety of business needs.
Availability
During the beta period, Workflow Automation is available at no extra cost to Zoom users with a paid licence. When Workflow Automation becomes generally available, paying users will be able to run unlimited standard workflows and a limited number of premium workflows. If the usage limit is exceeded, additional costs will be added.
