Amsterdam - ECG Excellence has been chosen as the Dutch winner of the eAwards by NTT DATA Foundation. Thanks to the eAwards, important and innovative technology projects in 15 European and Latin American countries are highlighted. ECG Excellence thus emerged as the winner in the Netherlands, winning a cash prize of €10,000 and representing the Netherlands in the international finals during Innovation Week in Madrid this week.
Contributing to quality of life or solving environmental problems
For this edition of the eAwards, NTT DATA was looking for projects based on high-impact, innovative, scalable and sustainable technologies. These should contribute to improving the quality of life and/or solving an environmental problem through digital business models or intensive use of technology.
ECG Excellence
ECG Excellence is an organisation that supports doctors in detecting heart disease. An electrocardiogram (ECG), or heart monitor, is currently only correctly interpreted by doctors in 54 per cent of cases. This results in delayed and missed diagnoses, health risks, patient uncertainty and high costs. ECG Excellence uses digital technology to make ECG interpretation more accurate and simpler, making it correct in as many as 95 per cent of cases. This results in earlier treatment and lower costs. The organisation is about to enter the market with their CineECG (Software-as-a-Service) for fully automated ECG interpretation.
Daniel Fuster, CEO of NTT DATA Netherlands, said, "This year we again received great entries for the eAwards. ECG Excellence stood out, partly because of the great social cause they are working on. We have every confidence in this entry for the international finals, where we hope they will also win first prize."
The final of the Global eAwards will take place on 25 October during NTT DATA Innovation Week. The winner of the international final will win €100,000 and will be offered a complementary acceleration programme. This is a tailor-made programme to accelerate the startup's growth based on their needs and goals.
