Atos introduces Sustainable Digital Workplace to help organizations achieve sustainable ambitions
Amstelveen, Dec. 8, 2023 -Atos announces Sustainable Digital Workplace: an offering aimed at supporting organizations worldwide to achieve their CSR goals. As much as 57 percent of corporate IT's carbon footprint can be attributed to workplace equipment*. This new service offering from Atos is therefore an important step forward in making innovative and sustainable IT solutions accessible to customers.
Since Atos announced at the 2021 Climate Summit (COP26) that it was partnering with BSI Kitemark™-certified startup Circular Computing, it has significantly expanded its offerings. The new portfolio consists of more than 20 "Tech for Good" solutions, which meet social impact and accessibility criteria and include tools for data analytics and user interfaces.
In the first segment of this new offering from Atos, device lifecycle management takes on a new meaning. Most companies replace employee laptops every three to four years, with each new device purchased accounting for emissions of over 300 kg CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent)**. Atos works closely with an international network of industry partners to provide customers with replacement options in the form of laptops with lower CO2 emissions. This includes maintenance for longer use, as well as the refurbishing or remanufacturing of devices.
To optimize IT equipment, it is crucial to accurately measure its usage and the carbon footprint of digital operations. Atos' offering includes a series of dashboards that enable end users and executives to better monitor and improve the workplace carbon footprint.

Atos Tech 4 Good Assistant
The 'Atos Tech 4 Good Assistant' gives employees real-time feedback on their personal performance based on sustainable and social criteria. The Assistant can recommend actions such as uninstalling unnecessary programs, turning off the laptop or changing settings. The Atos Tech 4 Good Assistant is available via Microsoft Teams or pop-up notifications and provides each end user with a monthly report summarizing performance.
The final component of the new offering provides consolidated data and recommended actions to IT and CSR managers. With these recommendations, they can not only closely monitor and manage their workplace's carbon footprint, but also improve services in terms of social impact and accessibility. This segment is designed to support them in producing CSR reports, which are of increasing importance to organizations.
The Atos Tech 4 Good Assistant already monitors over a hundred computer models, applications and services. In addition, it offers over ten dashboards for tracking statistics, such as on equipment redeployment and electricity consumption optimization. The offering was developed in collaboration with several Atos customers to ensure that it meets needs in specific sectors and regions before being rolled out to more devices and services in 2024.
"I am very excited about this new offering. With our new portfolio, not only can we meet customers' monitoring and reporting needs, but we are also taking important steps to make carbon reduction easier and empower employees to make the right choices for our planet," said Alexa Van Den Bempt, Senior Vice President Digital Business Platforms, Tech Foundations atAtos.
