Barbara Visser appointed Public Service Partner at PA Consulting

PA Consulting (PA) welcomes Barbara Visser (46) as Partner Public Service. In her new role, the former Minister of Infrastructure & Water Management and State Secretary of Defence focuses on creating new public-private ecosystems to help solve the most complex and pressing societal challenges of today and the future.

Visser leads large and complex transformation projects at PA's clients in the (semi-)public sector. As a partner, she is also jointly responsible for the further growth of the consultancy practice in the Netherlands. In doing so, she deploys her extensive knowledge and experience built up in a 12-year political career and before that as a consultant at, among others, the FIOD.

"We are extremely pleased to have found in Barbara a senior sparring partner for our clients," says Ruud Brink, country lead Netherlands at PA Consulting. "Barbara is analytically razor-sharp, has tremendous file knowledge and has a focus on facilitating collaboration within ecosystems. This is especially important in the public sector, as the most pressing issues - such as around energy transition, employment or infrastructure - transcend organisations and chains."

"PA Consulting has a solid track record in strategy, technology and innovation in diverse sectors," says Barbara Visser. "This unique mix, combining thinking and doing at the intersection of strategy, technology and innovation, offers clients true end-to-end solutions. At PA, I therefore return to my great passion: helping solve the major (social) issues within the (semi-)public sector as a consultant. Together with my new colleagues, I hope to start making a difference for our clients in the (semi-)public sector in the Netherlands."

Public bodies and state-owned companies in PA's portfolio include Prorail, UWV, Schiphol Airport, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and the Ministry of Finance.
