Former top executive at F5, Microsoft and Adobe has extensive experience to lead global software company Freshworks' go-to-market division
Freshworks Inc. today announced the appointment of Mika Yamamoto as its Chief Customer and Marketing Officer. She will be responsible for leading global marketing and customer experience teams. Yamamoto comes from F5, where she last held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Customer Engagement Officer. There, she was not only responsible for data, marketing and digital transformation, but also dealt with customer experience across products, segments, channels and geographies.
"With her experience from CMO and CXO roles, Mika is able to create innovative and measurable change among employees, customers and prospects," said Dennis Woodside, president of Freshworks. "She has extensive experience leading diverse customer experience teams globally and delivering exceptional go-to-market results for large public technology companies providing services to both small and large customers in a variety of markets. With her extensive knowledge and strong ambition to further grow Freshworks, she is a valuable addition to our management team."
Prior to joining F5, Yamamoto served as Global President of Marketo. After Marketo was acquired by Adobe, she became SVP and General Manager there. Yamamoto was previously Chief Digital Marketing Officer and CMO of SMB for SAP. She has also held senior c-level positions at Amazon Books, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Stores, Gartner and Accenture.

At Queen's University in Canada, Yamamoto earned a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Commerce with specialisations in economics and marketing. She also sits on the boards of BlackLine, the Rainier Valley Food Bank and the United Way of King County. Since 20 November, she has been part of Freshworks' management team and reports to Girish Mathrubootham (CEO and founder of Freshworks) and Dennis Woodside (president).
