Zonneplan, Tibber and Budget Energie best dynamic energy suppliers according to Keuze.nl research

Earlier this year, price comparison website Keuze.nl conducted independent research into the best energy suppliers of 2024. This did not officially include dynamic suppliers at the time because they are difficult to compare 1-to-1 with other contract types.

To follow up on this research, the site has now done separate research specifically on the best dynamic energy suppliers within the categories ‘lowest price’ and ‘customer satisfaction’. As winners, Zonneplan, Tibber and Budget Energie emerge from the results.

Lowest price

Budget Energie is the outright winner in the lowest price category. They most often emerge as the cheapest in the survey in 5 of the 6 most common consumption scenarios.

To determine the lowest dynamic price, prices were calculated based on the purchasing costs, fixed costs (subscription fees) and any cashback promotions offered by some dynamic suppliers.

The number two in the survey, Frank Energy, emerged as the cheapest in one scenario. In all other scenarios, they finished second. Tibber secured third place within this category, they finishing third in all scenarios.

Customer satisfaction

In the customer satisfaction category, Zonneplan and Tibber jointly won first place. Both achieved a 9.5 as final score. Third place goes to NextEnergy with a 9 as final mark.

For customer satisfaction, they looked at the content of online customer experiences and how suppliers deal with them. In addition, customer app experiences weigh in, as the app is widely used with dynamic energy contracts and is an important factor in choosing dynamic energy.
