Techleap starts collaboration with business for stronger Dutch tech ecosystem; Booking.com becomes first partner
Techleap, the non-profit organisation focused on accelerating the growth of Dutch startups and scaleups, today announced a partnership with Booking.com. Techleap is joining forces with the leading digital booking platform as part of efforts to advance the Dutch tech ecosystem. More similar collaborations with companies will follow in the near future.
In the coming years, Techleap will look for collaborations that contribute to its activities to support the Dutch tech sector. In doing so, the organisation will focus exclusively on companies that align with Techleap's mission. Booking.com is committed to diversity, equality and inclusion in tech, which fits perfectly with Techleap's community of Diverse Leaders in Tech. The partnership will initially focus on participating in events such as the DEI in TECH Summit and the State of Dutch Tech.
For Techleap, it is a groundbreaking step to partner with companies that share the same mission and align with Techleap's new, more entrepreneurial approach. Some of Techleap's activities become self-sustaining courtesy of corporate support. This results in more impact in Techleap's mission to build Europe's strongest performing tech ecosystem.
"By forming deep and long-term partnerships with organisations that share our ambitions, we make the most sustainable impact," said Hadewych Corstens, commercial director at Techleap. "We are excited to strengthen and further expand our initiatives through this strategy. Ultimately, we achieve much more by working together and exchanging expert knowledge."
Collaborating more intensively for the ecosystem
Booking.com was founded in the Netherlands in 1996 and is known as one of the first Dutch 'unicorns'. It is still one of the few European tech companies that have grown into successful international players. Booking.com employs more than 100 nationalities from its headquarters in Amsterdam. The company openly advocates for a more diverse and inclusive tech industry. It does this through numerous partnerships and initiatives, both locally and globally. It also plays an active role in promoting better collaboration and knowledge sharing within the wider Dutch tech ecosystem.
"The combination of an entrepreneurial mindset and access to diverse international talent in the Netherlands creates a unique environment that is essential for the growth of startups and scaleups," said Arjan Dijk, senior vice president at Booking.com. "We are delighted to partner with Techleap. This way, we contribute to an even more inclusive and dynamic Dutch tech ecosystem in the long term. Moreover, by doing so, we strengthen the Netherlands' reputation as a leading hub for innovation."
